First Sergeant Streat is a native of Fitzgerald, Georgia. On August 11, 2008 he enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended Marine Corps Recruit Training in Kilo Company, 3rd recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina. In November 2008 he reported to Marine Combat Training Battalion, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for training. Upon completion, he reported to Fort Sill, Oklahoma in order to obtain his primary MOS as an Artillery Fire Direction Control Man (0844), where he was also promoted to Private First Class. After graduating MOS school, Private First Class Streat reported to 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, where he served as a 0844 with alternate billet as an artillery surveyor with the battalion and was promoted to Lance Corporal.
In 2009 Lance Corporal Streat PCA'd to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines in order to carry out original orders. Lance Corporal Streat served as a Survey Team Leader until August 2010 when he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal, pushing him into the Survey Chief position. In 2012, Corporal Streat Deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan with 2nd Battalion 10th Marines where he served as 1st squad leader for the Tactical Receovery of Air Personnel (trap), Regional Quick Reaction Force (QRF), Internal QRF, Personal Security Detail (PSD), and Regional Security missions. In August 2012, he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Platoon Sergeant billet.
In 2013, Sergeant Streat reported to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines in Okinawa, Japan. There he continued as an 0844 until attending Marine Corps Artillery Operations Chief Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon graduating and returning to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines he served as the battalion Assistant Operations Chief as well as the temporary battalion Armory Chief.
In November 2015, Sergeant Streat reported to Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines in Camp Pendleton, California where he was served as the Assistant Operations Chief and Battery Training NCO. In February 2016, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and deployed with the 11th MEU aboard the USS Somerset from October 2016 to May 2017 as the Operations Chief for Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS) Platoon. Upon returning, SSgt Streat received orders to Marine Combat Instructor School at School of Infantry West for class 3-18.
Upon completion of Combat Instructor School, Staff Sergeant Streat reported to Hotel Company, Marine Combat Training Battalion. Staff Sergeant Streat served duties as a Combat Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, and Platoon Commander, before moving to the Instructor Group and finished his tour as the Company Gunnery Sergeant at Lima Company, Headquarters and Support Battalion. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in December 2020 and received orders to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment.
Gunnery Sergeant Streat reported to 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment in June 2021. He served his time at the unit as the Platoon Sergeant for the 81MM Mortars Platoon. During his tour, he prepared and trained his platoon and company for deployment on Unit Deployment Program 23.1 to Okinawa Japan. Upon return, Gunnery Sergent Streat was selected to his current rank of First Sergeant. He completed his tour as the First Sergeant for Fox Company 2/2 before receiving orders to 3d Civil Affairs Group aboard Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois where he currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergent.
First Sergeant Streat's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ 2 gold stars in lieu of third award, and a Navy Unit Commendation along with various other Service and Campaign medals.
