First Sergeant Edward R. Argueta

First Sergeant Edward Argueta enlisted in the Marine Corps in Naperville, IL in September of 2009. Upon completion of Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego he went on to complete Marine Combat Training and military occupational school in Camp Pendleton, California and graduated as an Assault Amphibian Vehicle Crewmember. Private First Class Argueta was then assigned his first duty station at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with 2D Assault Amphibian Battalion. Soon after arriving to 2D Assault Amphibian Battalion, Private First Class Argueta was promoted to Lance Corporal and deployed to South America in support of Operation Continuing Promise 2010 aboard LHD U.S.S Iwo Jima. Upon mission completion, Lance Corporal Argueta deployed to South America in support of Southern Partnership Station aboard U.S.S Oak Hill in 2011 where he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal and served as a riverine Squad Leader. In 2012 he was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and served as a Platoon Sergeant. Sergeant Argueta was then assigned to 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a Section Leader. While with 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion, Sergeant Argueta deployed to Okinawa, Japan in 2013 as part of the Unit Deployment Program where he traveled to Camp Sunshine, South Korea to support an MPF offload from the U.S.N.S Bobo. After accelerated to the rank of Staff Sergeant in 2015, Staff Sergeant Argueta joined Battalion Landing Team 2/1 and deployed on the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard U.S.S. Harpers Ferry with an integrated mechanized infantry company as part of the Amphibious Readiness Group. In 2017, Staff Sergeant Argueta was given orders to Assault Amphibian School as a Formal School Instructor. In the same year he was pulled from the below zone and promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Upon this promotion, Gunnery Sergeant Argueta was assigned as a Platoon Commander for entry level course, unit leader’s course, and officer’s course. Gunnery Sergeant Argueta returned to 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion in 2020 and deployed again to Okinawa, Japan as part of the 2021 Unit Deployment Program. Upon return from deployment, Gunnery Sergeant Argueta was selected to his current
rank of First Sergeant. In 2022, First Sergeant Argueta was assigned to 3D Civil Affairs Group aboard Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant. First Sergeant Argueta’s personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, and Good Conduct Medal with three bronze stars.
