Lieutenant Colonel David K. Campbell

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell is a native of Panorama City, CA. He graduated from San Diego State University in 2008 and commissioned the same year. After commissioning, he completed The Basic School and Field Artillery Basic Officer Course in 2009.

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell was then assigned to 3d Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment (3/11) where he served as forward observer, platoon commander, and battery executive officer from 2009-2012. During this tour, he deployed on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as a forward observer attached to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, and to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a liaison officer and information operations officer attached to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines.

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell then joined 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) via the Selected Marine Corps Reserves (SMCR), where he served as Firepower Control Team (FCT) leader from 2012-2016. During this tour, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Resolute Support Mission (RSM), and to Guatemala in support of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF), Central America. He earned his graduate degree in 2016 from Marshall University.

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell was then assigned to Marine Corps Installations-East (MCIEAST) via the Active Reserve program, where he served as IMA Reserve Program Manager, Company Commander, and Battalion Operations Officer from 2017-2019.

He was then assigned to 12 Marine Corps District (MCD) to serve as OIC of Prior Service Recruiting Station (PSRS) 12 from 2019-2022. In 2022 Lieutenant Colonel Campbell executed orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego to serve as Operations Officer, Prior Service Recruiting, Marine Corps Recruit Depot/Western Recruiting Region from 2022-2023.

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell was then assigned to Marine Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC), where he served as the IMA Operational Sponsor, G-3, and Deputy Branch Head, Current Operations, G-33, from 2023-2025.

In 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Campbell assumed command of 4th Civil Affairs Group as Inspector-Instructor, where he currently serves.

Lieutenant Colonel Campbell's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
