Major Benjamin W. Steiger
Commanding Officer
Anti-Tank Training Company

Major Steiger assumed the duties of Company Commander, Anti-Tank Training Company in December 2024. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Major Steiger was commissioned on 10 May 2012 following his graduation from Oral Roberts University. After completing The Basic School with Bravo Company, Class 2-13, he was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 2d Marine Logistics Group.

In 2013, Major Steiger was sent to the Logistics Officer Course 1-14 in Camp Johnson, North Carolina where he completed five months of training covering all functions of logistics. After graduation, Major Steiger was assigned as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander in Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 2. Major Steiger participated in numerous cross-country training exercises, including a Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) offload, a Mountain Training Exercise (MTX), and an Integrated Training Exercise (ITX). In January 2016, he was assigned as the Landing Support Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer, Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 2. Soon afterwards, he deployed as the Combat Logistics Detachment Commander, Task Force Combat Logistics Battalion 8, Baltic Operations 2016 aboard the USS Carter Hall.

In January 2017, Major Steiger left active duty and transferred to the inactive ready reserves. In February 2018, Major Steiger affiliated with the Selected Marine Corps Reserves as the Regimental Motor Transportation Officer, Headquarters Company, 23d Marines, San Bruno, California. In June 2018, he served as the Regimental S-3A and the Combat Logistics Battalion-25 S-3A during Integrated Training Exercise 4-18. In July of 2018, he mobilized via Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS) orders to serve as the Battalion Logistics Officer, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In January of 2019, Captain Steiger mobilized via Active Duty of Operational Support Contingency Orders (ADOS-CO) to Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF) as a part of the Georgian Deployment Program in Stuttgart, Germany, as the Future Operations Officer and Operations Officer. In July of 2020, Captain Steiger transferred to European Future Operations as an exercise and operational planner for the Western Europe and Mediterranean region. In November 2021, he affiliated with the MARFOREUR/AF IMA while enrolled in a Master of Arts degree in International War Studies from the University of Potsdam, Germany and University College Dublin, Ireland. During his time in the MARFOREUR/AF IMA, Major Steiger activated to support Sixth Fleet, Naples, Italy, in support of Ukraine contingency operations. In January 2023, after completion of classes, he mobilized to MARFOREUR/AF once again where he was assigned as the G-4 Current Operations Officer, as an Operational Logistics Planner, with responsibility for exercises in the EUCOM and AFRICOM theaters, and as the G-33 Command Center officer-in-charge.

Major Steiger has completed The Basic School, Logistics Officers Course, Pathfinder Course, Security Cooperation Planners Course, Expeditionary Warfare School (Distance Education Program), the Swedish Army's Subarctic Warfare Center's Basic Winter Soldier Course, and the NATO Staff Officer's Winter Course. Major Steiger’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal x2, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
