Northern Strike 17, a National Guard hosted exercise, brings together service members from across the U.S. Department of Defense as well as service members from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Latvia, Canada and Poland. Marine Forces Reserve participation in Northern Strike 17 focused on strengthening and refining mechanized, amphibious, land and air capabilities while operating in a joint and multinational capacity. Task Force 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment used Northern Strike 17 to gauge overall training and readiness levels as they prepare for Integrated Training Exercise 2018 and future mobilizations and deployments in 2019.

Marines with 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion demonstrated the technology of the Amphibious Assault Vehicle to Saudi Arabian Marine general officers at the Marine Corps Training Center Tampa, Fla., Dec. 5, 2014. The Marines gave their Saudi counterparts a presentation on the capabilities and limitations of the AAV to determine whether it is a viable option for their national defense needs.
