U.S. Marines with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, and Marine Wing Support Squadron 473, 4th MAW, MARFORRES, did their part following the storm conducting refueling and resupply missions to Marathon, Florida, in wake of Hurricane Irma to aid and assist the affected areas of the Florida Keys, beginning on Sept. 10, 2017.

Marines, others welcome WWII vets to the Big Easy

Academy nominated actor Gary Sinise helps Francis Rumi, Sr., a World War II Navy veteran, place beads and a Marine Corps lanyard around his neck during the welcome ceremony held in honor of approximately 40 other veterans of the "Greatest Generation" at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, June 25, 2015. Sinise and volunteers from the Gary Sinise Foundation organized a special trip for the veterans to visit the National World War II Museum in downtown New Orleans later that day.
