About

U.S. Marines with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, and Marine Wing Support Squadron 473, 4th MAW, MARFORRES, did their part following the storm conducting refueling and resupply missions to Marathon, Florida, in wake of Hurricane Irma to aid and assist the affected areas of the Florida Keys, beginning on Sept. 10, 2017.

MARFORRES Honors Leatherneck
Marines of Marine Forces Reserve honored Maj. Daniel Carmick Nov. 9, 2015, for his role in the Battle of New Orleans as well as his Marine Corps service. Each year MARFORRES holds a wreath laying ceremony at Carmick’s gravesite. Carmick commanded Marines and local militia men in the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812 and established the Marine Corps nickname leatherneck.
