U.S. Marines with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, and Marine Wing Support Squadron 473, 4th MAW, MARFORRES, did their part following the storm conducting refueling and resupply missions to Marathon, Florida, in wake of Hurricane Irma to aid and assist the affected areas of the Florida Keys, beginning on Sept. 10, 2017.

Enlisted Marines Experience What it Takes to Become a Marine Officer

Ruiz, Force Sergeant Major, Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) and Marine Forces South, gives his opening remarks for the Summer Officer Tour at Liversedge Hall, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Aug. 20, 2021. Marines participated in the Commander of MARFORRES and Marine Forces South’s inaugural Summer Officer Tour to gain insight into the journey of becoming a Marine Corps Officer. The tour included visits to Officer Candidates School, The Basic School, Marine Corps University, The National Museum of The Marine Corps and Marine Barracks Washington. MARFORRES is seeking to identify high performing Active Component, Active Reserve and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Marines, who offer unique perspectives, to pursue a commission as an officer in an effort to better prepare the Marine Corps Total Force to meet future threats.
