U.S. Marines with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, and Marine Wing Support Squadron 473, 4th MAW, MARFORRES, did their part following the storm conducting refueling and resupply missions to Marathon, Florida, in wake of Hurricane Irma to aid and assist the affected areas of the Florida Keys, beginning on Sept. 10, 2017.

Capt. Christopher Banweg (front) and Maj. Jeremy Hoffmann prepare to assist in a distribution of wheat seed and blankets in the village of Qual E Now here Dec. 18, 2009. The wheat seed is a part of an alternative crop program to wean the people off of poppy cultivation. Banweg is a member of 4th Civil Affairs Group, a Marine Forces Reserve unit headquartered in Washington, D.C. A career reserve Marine, Banweg perated with his team here from November 2009 to May 2010, spearheading key infrastructure development projects.
