About

Marines from 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in exercise Riley Xanten II, in Burwash, Ontario, Feb. 3-5, 2017. During the exercise, the Marines joined soldiers from the Canadian Armed Forces to exchange knowledge and increase proficiency in cold weather tactics, survival skills, shelter building, ice fishing, and more.

Saber Strike and BALTOPS 17 Amphibious Assault
VENTSPILS, Latvia – Pfc. Arturo Villegas, an infantryman with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, communicates with his fire team during an amphibious assault in Ventspils, Latvia, during Exercise Saber Strike 17, June 6, 2017. The beach landings took place concurrently between exercise Saber Strike and Baltic Operations. Exercise Saber Strike 17 is an annual combined-joint exercise conducted at various locations throughout the Baltic region and Poland. The combined training prepares NATO Allies and partners to effectively respond to regional crises and to meet their own security needs by strengthening their borders and countering threats.
