About

Marines from 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in exercise Riley Xanten II, in Burwash, Ontario, Feb. 3-5, 2017. During the exercise, the Marines joined soldiers from the Canadian Armed Forces to exchange knowledge and increase proficiency in cold weather tactics, survival skills, shelter building, ice fishing, and more.

Marines reversed their blouse inside-out to simulate enemy forces during training. The Marines train and perform a variety of infantry skill evaluations during the field exercise to help sharpen their overall capabilities. These training events assist the Marines and Sailors when working alongside partner nations in Latin America and the Caribbean with crisis response preparedness, security cooperation training, and engineering projects.
