The Marines worked in the counties of Perquimans and Bertie, North Carolina, helping communities by providing their civil affairs expertise in areas such as emergency management and disaster risk reduction. The training also helped Marines prepare for deployment, where they use their civil affairs skills to serve as liaisons and build relationships between the military and host nation governments.
