Capt. Schuller previously served with 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines as a Corporal during a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Schuller received a Silver Star for his actions on May 7th, 2005 when his platoon was ambushed by enemy forces using a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, rocket propelled grenades and automatic weapons. Capt Schuller spoke to the Marines of 3/25 about the importance of small-unit leadership, their training during ITX and thanked them for answering the call to serve in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
