Marines of Marine Forces Reserve are participating in WTI 1-18 during their annual training to increase their proficiency with the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System and to build experience using HIMARS to fire Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets, advancing their combat effectiveness and readiness for future exercises and deployments.

Enlisted Marines Experience What it Takes to Become a Marine Officer
Sgt. Maj. Carlos A. Ruiz, Force Sergeant Major, Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) and Marine Forces South, gives his opening remarks for the Summer Officer Tour at Liversedge Hall, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Aug. 20, 2021. Marines participated in the Commander of MARFORRES and Marine Forces South’s inaugural Summer Officer Tour to gain insight into the journey of becoming a Marine Corps Officer. The tour included visits to Officer Candidates School, The Basic School, Marine Corps University, The National Museum of The Marine Corps and Marine Barracks Washington. MARFORRES is seeking to identify high performing Active Component, Active Reserve and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Marines, who offer unique perspectives, to pursue a commission as an officer in an effort to better prepare the Marine Corps Total Force to meet future threats.
