Marines of Marine Forces Reserve are participating in WTI 1-18 during their annual training to increase their proficiency with the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System and to build experience using HIMARS to fire Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets, advancing their combat effectiveness and readiness for future exercises and deployments.

Toys for Tots sets out to Utqiaġvik

U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Kevin Kolbay flies Marines, Airmen, and their gear to Utqiagvik, Alaska in a KC-130J Super Hercules aircraft in Alaska, Dec. 13, 2024. Kolbay, a KC-130J Super Hercules pilot with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 153, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, flew Marines with Detachment Delta Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, and Airmen from Kotzebue to Utqiagvik, Alaska to continue this year’s Toys for Tots operation. The Toys for Tots mission exemplifies the Marine Corps spirit in the Last Frontier, strengthening community ties while sharpening the Marines' readiness for Arctic operations.
