Exercise AFRICAN LION 18 is a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-sponsored, U.S. Africa Command-scheduled, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa-led, joint and combined exercise conducted in the Kingdom of Morocco, with a “spoke” in Tunisia. The U.S. will deploy approximately 900 U.S. service members to join nearly 400 members of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, approximately 250 Tunisian armed forces, and members of the Federal Republic of Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and Greek armed forces.

Thomas Hood, a member of the Enhanced Marketing Vehicle Team with the 8th Marine Corps District, helps a small child complete a pull-up at the Armed Forces Adventure Area in Fort Worth, Texas, Dec. 30, 2013. The 8th MCD Marines passed out prizes to anyone willing to complete some pull-ups and were available to answer any questions the public had about joining the Marine Corps. The AFAA was the official fan zone for spectators of the 2013 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl to interact with service members and their gear before, during and after the game.
