NEW ORLEANS --
Linda Allen-Boseman, the deputy civilian personnel officer
for Marine Forces Reserve, hosted the Civilian Leadership Development Seminar
for the civilian workforce at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans,
led by Dr. James Van Zummeren and Michael Hyams from Lejeune Leadership
Institute, June 10 – 12, 2015.
Seventeen civilians participated in the seminar that
focuses on developing individuals as more effective leaders. During the seminar, the group engaged in
lively discussions that enhanced the learning experience.
Topics covered self-awareness using reflection, personal
goal setting, monitoring self-talk to make it positive, and self-concept by
developing a personal leadership philosophy with goals. At the conclusion of the seminar, each
participant stated that the seminar was effective in developing their
leadership skills to be better leaders.
