Marine Forces Reserve scored a 100 percent on physical facility security during a recent Command Cyber Readiness Inspection conducted by the Defense Information Security Agency. About 25 World War II Iwo Jima veterans were in attendance at the 68th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima luncheon ceremony at the Marine’s Memorial Hotel March 13, 2013. The event was an opportunity to accentuate the connection between the WWII-era 4th Marine Division with today's 4th Marine Division and Marine Forces Reserve. Col. Paul Pratt, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, Marine Forces Reserve, addresses the Marines who were part of the first phase of evacuees from MFR New Orleans. Hurricane Gustav has forced these Marines and their families to relocate to Naval Air Station/Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth. These Marines are representatives from their units chosen to set up shop in preparation of the rest of their coworkers. - Col.
