HM2 Corey Parker is an Augusta, Georgia native and Navy corpsman stationed with a Marine Corps Reserve unit based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Parker, along with two other sailors is responsible for the medical and dental care of Company F, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, and is keeping Marines in the fight as they execute exercise Winter Break 2018 at Camp Grayling, Michigan, Feb. 4-17, 2018. Parker has been the Fox Co. corpsman for three years.

“My goal out here is safety,” said Parker. “The biggest thing right now is preventing hypothermia, pneumonia and frostbite. If there are any injuries that happen, myself and two other corpsmen are responsible for the treatment and care of the Marine.”

Fox Co., 4th Tank Bn. Marines are conducting exercise Winter Break 18 to build proficiency with a multitude of operations; including arctic camouflage techniques and offensive and defensive maneuvers and for drivers and crewmen to gain experience operating tanks in an austere, snow covered environment. Parker’s mission is to ensure all the Marines stay healthy and fit to fight as they battle the elements.

“This training is different than other types of exercises Fox Company has been to,” Parker said. “The cold weather and climate can diminish the Marines' strength. It's my goal to make
sure the Marines can adapt and overcome.”
