Fiscal Year 2015 Selected Marine Corps Reserve Lateral Move Program

12 Nov 2014 | Cpl. J. Gage Karwick U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve

MARADMIN 584/14 announces the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Lateral Move Program for military occupational specialty retraining of Marines assigned to SMCR units, and prior service Marines requesting affiliation with SMCR units.

The Marine Corps Training Information Management System will be used to identify appropriate school seats for qualified Marines. All requested course dates should begin no earlier than 60 days after the date of the total force retention system submission.

Career planners are the only personnel authorized to submit requests for current SMCR Marines or Individual Mobilization Augmentee Marines requesting an inter-unit transfer to a SMCR unit. Prior service recruiters are the only personnel authorized to submit requests for prior service Marines requesting affiliation with a SMCR unit.  Reserve transition coordinators will submit requests for active component Marines applying for the direct affiliation program.

The appropriate forms required for a lateral move include a scanned signed copy of the current fiscal year statement of understanding with blocks 1-7 completed; a completed training request form, any waivers with the required endorsements, and results of physical performance standards.

All requests will be considered based on the needs of the Marine Corps. However, due to limited funds, requests will be approved on a first come, first serve basis.

For all application requirements and information, see the MARADMIN.
