Fitness Test Changes for Pregnant Marines

MARADMIN 005/15 announces a change to Marine Corps Order 6100.13 regarding the Marine Corps physical fitness program and pregnancy. The change alters the time period when a female Marine is required to take a physical fitness test and combat fitness test after giving birth.

Female Marines returning from a pregnancy are now required to take a PFT/CFT no earlier than six months after returning to full duty.

The previous policy required female Marines to take a PFT/CFT after the 42-day postpartum convalescent period and no later than six months after returning to full duty. This requirement was inconsistent with the time requirements allowed for female Marines to meet other standards such as weight and body fat after giving birth as stated in the Marine Corps policy concerning pregnancy and parenthood.
