NEW ORLEANS --
NEW ORLEANS- The fiscal year 2016 Selected Marine
Corps Reserve Early Release Program
establishes the authority, eligibility and
procedures for the voluntary early release of enlisted
Marines in the SMCR. The program will start on
September 1, 2015 and end on September 30, 2016.
Marines
eligible for this program must be serving their first-term and have a mandatory
drill participation stop date between October 1,
2015 and September 30, 2016. Marines in receipt
of an enlistment bonus are eligible to participate.
Those with any other incentive are not eligible
for the program. Marines must obtain the endorsement
of their battalion/squadron commanding
officer to be eligible.
To
participate in the program, those eligible will submit an administrative action
form to
their first O-5-level commander with a requested
date of release. Those without a requested date
of release will be assigned a date. The battalion/squadron
commander will then submit requests
to RAP@usmc.mil.
Marines
approved for the program will sign a page 11 entry acknowledging they are
volunteering for the program and that all separation
requirements will be completed prior to their
mandatory drill participation stop date.
