Madrigal, a radio chief with Supporting Arms Liaison Team G, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Jan. 31, 2013. Madrigal, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., was awarded the nation’s third highest honor for his actions as a member of a squad patrol that was pinned down by insurgent fire. Marines from Battery O, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division prepare to fire artillery rounds from an M777A2 155 mm howitzer at East Fuji Maneuver Area, Japan Sept. 11. Battery O is in Japan as a part of the Unit Deployment Program, a program designed to increase the training level and unit continuity of Marine Corps units stationed in the continental United States. Young, president of the Molly Marine chapter of the Women Marines Association, during a ceremony where the local Molly Marine chapter presented MARFORRES with an award plaque at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Oct. 15. The Molly Marine chapter was awarded the Ruth and Dick Broe Award, the most prestigious award given to WMA chapters for overall outstanding chapter achievement, at their most recent national convention and professional development conference that took place in Philadelphia from Aug. 30 through Sept. 4. - Lt.
