NEW ORLEANS – Lt. Gen. Richard P. Mills, commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, signs a statement of support for the Guard and Reserve at the Marine Corps Support Facility, Oct. 29. The statement signifies the commander’s intent to assist Marines and sailors with their careers, supporting the mission of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. ESGR aims to gain and maintain civilian employer support for Guardsmen and Reserve members by rewarding outstanding support from civilian employers, educating service members and employers of their rights and obligations under the law, as well as resolving conflict through mediation. Becker, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Anti- Terrorism Force Protection chief and Defense Support of Civil Authorities lead, discusses operations and techniques with a collection of representatives from major U.S. Marine Corps Headquarters based in the U.S. at the Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North headquarters, during the first Marine Corps led DSCA working group, June 20. The Marines and civilians gathered to discuss and synchronize each section’s disaster response efforts and capabilities, review current operational requirements and prepare for the upcoming hurricane and wildland fire season. Staff Sgt. Alec Haralovich holds the 2013 GySgt. John Basilone Award for Courage and Commitment following a ceremony here May 19, 2013. He was the presented the etched glass statue for reviving the memory of GySgt. John Basilone and upholding the ultimate attribute of what it means to be a United States Marine. His selfless service to the Marine Corps, his Marines and heroic exploits during a 2011 deployment to Afghanistan also earned him the Silver Star Medal. Harolovich is currently assigned to E Company, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve. Haralovich left promptly to begin a nearly year-long deployment to train foreign forces overseas in the coming months. Haralovich is a reconnaissance Marine from Bloomington, Ind. - Staff Sgt. Madrigal, a radio chief with Supporting Arms Liaison Team G, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Jan. 31, 2013. Madrigal, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., was awarded the nation’s third highest honor for his actions as a member of a squad patrol that was pinned down by insurgent fire. On Feb. 15, 2010, he repelled an enemy attack, rushed to save a fellow Marine, called in multiple fire-support missions, and called in a casualty evacuation. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
