Matlab Hurricane Decision Simulator

NEW ORLEANS- Dr. Cameron MacKenzie, an assistant professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, presents the Matlab Hurricane Decision Simulator to the commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, June 11, 2015, at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans. The hurricane decision simulator depicts tropical cyclones that threaten to strike New Orleans. A forecast includes the chances the storm will strike New Orleans, the expected time until landfall, and information about the wind speed. Based on the forecast, the user must make decisions in the simulation about steps to prepare MARFORRES for the oncoming cyclone, such as whether or not to evacuate. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl.
