Reserve Marines from 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division participate in Exercise Dynamic Front 19 in Latvia from March 2-9, 2019. Exercise DF19 is a multinational exercise conducted by the U.S. Army in Europe that is designed to improve allied and partner nation ability to deliver long-range fires capabilities. Approximately 3,200 participants from 29 nations are taking part in the live-fire portion of the exercise, which is designed to increase readiness, lethality, and interoperability by integrating joint fires in a multinational environment at both the operational and tactical levels.

Before mortars are fired, mortarmen must wait for the fire direction center to give the signal to fire after each gun has confirmed that their target is properly sighted in.
