The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during Oct., Nov. and Dec. each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less-fortunate children. This is the 70th anniversary season of Toys for Tots. Since its inception in 1947, the nationwide Marine Corps Reserve sponsored program has collected and distributed more than 570 million toys.
