ABOUT

Integrated Training Exercise (ITX) 4-19 is a live-fire and maneuver combined arms exercise designed to train battalion and squadron-sized units in tactics, techniques, and procedures required to provide a sustainable and ready operational reserve for employment across the full spectrum of crisis and global engagement.

ITX 4-19 is an essential component of the MARFORRES training and readiness cycle.  It serves as the principal exercise for assessing a unit's capabilities.

Enlisted Marines Experience What it Takes to Become a Marine Officer
Marines with Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) take part in a terrain model exercise at The Basic School during a Summer Officer Tour on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Aug. 19, 2021. This table-top exercise gives Marines an opportunity to practice critical thinking and employ battlefield tactics in a simulated environment. Enlisted Marines participated in the Commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces South’s inaugural Summer Officer Tour to gain insight into the journey of becoming a Marine Corps Officer. The tour also included visits to Officer Candidates School, Marine Corps University, The National Museum of The Marine Corps and Marine Barracks Washington. MARFORRES is seeking to identify high performing Active Component, Active Reserve and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Marines, who offer unique perspectives, to pursue a commission as an officer in an effort to better prepare the Marine Corps Total Force to meet future threats.
