About

Integrated Training Exercise (ITX) 5-19 is a live-fire and maneuver combined arms exercise designed to train battalion and squadron-sized units in tactics, techniques, and procedures required to provide a sustainable and ready operational reserve for employment across the full spectrum of crisis and global engagement.

ITX 5-19 is an essential component of the MARFORRES training and readiness cycle.  It serves as the principal exercise for assessing a unit's capabilities.

Lt. Gen. Ronald L. Bailey, deputy commandant of Plans, Policies and Operations, presented Congressional Gold Medals to two of the original Montford Point Marines in attendance at the 49th annual Montford Point Marine Association Convention awards banquet here, July 19, 2014. Woodrow Arthur and Cleveland Williams were two of approximately 20,000 black Marines who were trained at the Montford Point training facility in Camp Johnson, North Carolina, when military forces were still segregated.
