Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force, Southern Command - 2020

From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

During the visit, Lt. Gen. Bellon greeted the Marines at their respective work areas and presented challenge coins to two Marines for their hard work preparing for the mobilization of the task force. Lt. Gen. Bellon shared his professional guidance and mentorship with the SPMAGTF-SC 20 Marines and Sailors from his experience working in Southern Command’s area of operations. The SPMAGTF are conducting a variety of pre-deployment training events and qualifications in order to enhance crisis response readiness for the Latin American and Caribbean region.
