Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force, Southern Command - 2020

From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

Capt. Olivia Raftshol, a KC-130J Hercules pilot with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234, Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, transports Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command to Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, July 31, 2020. A group of approximately 20 Marines from the SPMAGTF-SC will integrate with Joint Task Force - Bravo in Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, and support operations and exercises in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The remainder of the task force is prepared to deploy to the region to work alongside partner nation militaries, enhancing combined crisis response efforts in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
