From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

Master Sgt. David Keith, the Marine Corps Reserve maintenance chief and staff noncommissioned officer–in-charge of additive manufacturing for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 49 (MALS-49), discusses with Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand’s staff the advances made for KC-130s using additive manufacturing at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, on Aug. 25, 2022. Master Sgt. Keith was board selected to the Marine Innovation Unit (MIU) as part of the Innovation Laboratory due to his unique skill as an additive manufacturer for MALS-49 to further advance Marine Corps technology. The MIU is a newly activated unit designed to accelerate advanced capabilities, transform Naval Service capacity for technology employment, and retain and invest in highly skilled Marines in support of Force Design 2030 and the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ initiatives.
