From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

The activation marks the beginning of an intensive period of training for 2nd Battalion, 23d Marines as they provide a total force solution in support of the UDP by aligning Marine Forces Reserve’s commitment to Marine Corps strategic objectives.
