From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

2/23 Marines and ROK Marines Celebrate the End of KMEP 25.2 with a Friendly Competition

Jacob Huish, a rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, forward deployed with 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program, and a Republic of Korea Marine with the 1st Marine Division, ROK Marine Corps, throw a baseball together at an end of exercise celebration competition during the Korean Marine Exercise Program 25.2 in Pohang, South Korea, Aug. 9, 2025. KMEP is conducted regularly between the ROK and U.S. Marine Corps to increase their combined capabilities through realistic training geared towards deterrence and maintaining peace in the Indo-Pacific.
