From Jun to Dec 2020, SPMAGTF-SC 20, in coordination with Partner Nations and US Government entities, forward deploys to execute opportune maritime engagements, theater security cooperation, and foreign humanitarian assistance in the SOUTHCOM AOR to increase interoperability between U.S. and select partner naval forces, build a more lethal force, and increase PN ability to export security.  BPT support limited crisis response.

A U.S. Marine Corps CH-46, based out of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. transports Marines from the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force 24 to a beach in Ancon, Peru on July 7, 2010. The unit is embarked on the transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in support of operation Partnership of the Americas/Southern Exchange, a combined amphibious exercise designed to enhance cooperative partnerships with maritime forces from Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, and Colombia.
