U.S. Marines with 4th Civil Affairs Group, Force Headquarters Group, in support of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force UNITAS LXIV, meet with Rafael Ospina Toscano, mayor of Coveñas, along with other civilian leaders in Coveñas, Colombia, July 11, 2023. By meeting with local leaders, Marines forge bonds for the long-term advancement of regional security, maintaining favorable partnerships that deter aggression and supporting the stability that generates economic growth. UNITAS focuses on strengthening existing regional partnerships and encouraging the establishment of new relationships through the exchange of maritime mission-focused knowledge and expertise.
