Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

Shock Trauma Platoon Trains in the Desert
A corpsman with Shock Trauma Platoon, 4th Medical Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve, monitors a patient's vitals during realistic casualty scenarios as part of Integrated Training Exercise 4-14 here, June 9 2014. The platoon's objective is to recieve all casualties within Marine Air-Ground Task Force 23 and evaluate their injuries for the Forward Resuscitative Surgical Suite where the decision is made whether or not to move the patient to a higher echelon of medical care.
