ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

Navy Hospital Corpsman 117 Birthday

Gregg T. Habel, executive director of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, addresses the audience at the Navy Hospital Corpsman Birthday cake-cutting ceremony at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, June 17, 2015. The hospital corps celebrated their 117th birthday this year. Habel spoke of the importance of hospital corpsmen and shared several unique experiences. The rating of hospital corpsman is the most decorated in the United States Navy, with 22 Medals of Honor, 178 Navy Crosses, 31 Navy Distinguished Service Medals, 946 Silver Stars, over 1,500 Bronze Stars and 20 naval ships named after hospital corpsmen.
