Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

“Alaska Marines” deliver toys across northwestern Alaska
U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Paul Keane, a crew master with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, records the weight of the snowmobiles and gear belonging to the Marines from Delta Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve, aboard a KC-130J Super Hercules at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 6, 2021. The “Alaska Marines” went to Alaska’s Northwest Arctic Borough and traveled by snowmobile and aircraft to dress as Santa Claus and deliver toys to children in remote villages belonging to Alaskan Natives in support of the Marine Forces Reserve Toys for Tots program.
