Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

Gillibrand staff members in front of MAG-49 Det B headquarters building at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, on Aug. 25, 2022. Members of Sen. Gillibrand’s staff visited Stewart ANG Base to meet with leadership from the MIU and MAG-49 Det B to learn about the MIU’s mission, and also renovation plans for the buildings currently occupied by MAG-49 Det B. The MIU is a newly activated unit designed to accelerate advanced capabilities, transform Naval Service capacity for technology employment, and retain and invest in highly skilled Marines in support of Force Design 2030 and the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ initiatives.
