ABOUT

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021. Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare. The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

ARCTIC EDGE 2024: MACS-24 Marines employ AN/TPS-80

Toby Callaway (right), radar technicians with Marine Air Control Squadron 24 (MACS-24), Marine Air Control Squadron 48, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, finish setting up an AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) in preparation of Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2024 at Fort Greely, Alaska, Feb. 10, 2024. The G/ATOR offers real-time information on-air threats, enabling air control squadrons to effectively manage airspace and ensure the safety and efficiency of joint air operations in any environment, including harsh arctic conditions. ARCTIC EDGE 2024 (AE24) is a U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise demonstrating the U.S. military’s capabilities in extreme cold weather, joint force readiness, and U.S. military commitment to mutual strategic security interests in the arctic region.
