Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Chaison Leavitt, machine gunner with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, executes annual training needed to be complete prior to activating for the unit deployment program at Camp Williams, Utah, Nov. 2, 2024. The activation marks the beginning of an intensive period of training for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines as they provide a total force solution in support of the UDP by aligning Marine Forces Reserve’s commitment to Marine Corps strategic objectives.
