Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

Carlos R., a Special Operations Training Services instructor, performs a conscious check on a volunteer from 1st platoon, Company L, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment. Carlos, who was also a corpsman with Army and Marine Corps special forces, trained the Marines on combat trauma situations May 24 at the 25 Area Combat Town, Camp Pendleton, Ca. in preparation for the unit’s upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
