Innovative Readiness Training Kodiak Care - 21

ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

New Orleans based women Marines awarded for their achievements
Members of the local Molly Marine chapter of the Women Marines Association gather around the Molly Marine statue they restore every year. This original Molly Marine statue was sculpted in New Orleans in 1943 in order to assist in recruiting women during World War II. The statue now resides on the corner of Canal St. and Elk Pl. in the French Quarter. The Molly Marine chapter was awarded the Ruth and Dick Broe Award, the most prestigious award given to WMA chapters for overall outstanding chapter achievement, at their most recent national convention and professional development conference that took place in Philadelphia from Aug. 30 through Sept. 4.
