ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

Marine Forces Reserve celebrates Marine Corps Birthday with motivational run
The Marines of Marine Forces Reserve stand at parade rest at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans after their motivational run through Algiers Point, La., Nov. 10, 2015. The Marines completed a 3-mile formation run through the neighborhood, after the traditional cake-cutting ceremony in honor of the Marine Corps’ 240th birthday. Since Nov. 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps has garnered the reputation as the world’s most efficient amphibious fighting force, engaging in combat on battlefronts across the globe since its inception.
