ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

Patrick T. Brent, Marine veteran, journalist, businessman and historian, addresses an audience of Marines in the auditorium of Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Nov. 12, 2015. Brent spoke to the Marines of Marine Forces Reserve about Marine Corps history and traditions and the impact those elements have on the Marine Corps today. Brent was also the guest of honor at the Marine Forces Reserve cake-cutting ceremony in honor of the Marine Corps’ 240th birthday, Nov. 10, 2015.
