The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

Marines from Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, stand ready to take the field and present the national colors at game one of the 2016 World Series at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Oct. 25, 2016. Just before the ceremony, announcer Bob Tyek gave credit to the Marine Corps Reserve and its 100 years of faithful service. Today, approximately 500 Reserve Marines are providing fully integrate global operational support to the Fleet and Combatant Commanders.
