ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

National World War II Museum remembers the attack on Pearl Harbor

McMillian, commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, talks to Angie Engel, whose husband served as a Navy pilot at Pearl Harbor, during a commemorative ceremony at the National World War II Museum, Dec. 7, 2016, for the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The event honored the service members who were present during the fateful attack on Dec. 7, 1941. During World War II, by September of 1945, Reserve Marines made up 70 percent of total wartime Marine Corps personnel.
