ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

The slab was created in order for the combat engineers to construct a short term building. The Marines and Sailors of SPMAGTF-SC use the training opportunity of the CPX to both show their capabilities in a controlled environment and prepare for the upcoming mission. SPMAGTF-SC is poised to conduct crisis response, theater security cooperation, and general engineering training alongside partner nation militaries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
