ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

U.S. Army Maj. Derek Butler, a civil liaison officer with Joint Task Force – Bravo, speaks with U.S. Marine Corps civil affairs specialists with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command about civil affairs missions at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Aug. 6, 2020. A group of approximately 20 Marines from the SPMAGTF-SC has joined with Joint Task Force - Bravo in support of operations and exercises in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The remainder of the task force is prepared to deploy to the region to work alongside partner nation militaries, enhancing combined crisis response efforts in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
